Ms. Goldberg has experience working with children, adolescents and families impacted by the adoption and foster care system, domestic violence, special education, residential treatment, juvenile court system, homelessness and transitional housing, and mental health hospitalization.
Rebecca Goldberg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) who specializes in treating mental health issues across the lifespan. Ms. Goldberg is currently licensed in the states of Virginia and Maryland (inactive status), with a temporary license in Massachusetts and pending licensure in Minnesota and Delaware to support clients during the pandemic crisis.
Ms. Goldberg works with children, adolescents and adults in various therapy settings, including individual, group and family psychotherapy. She specializes in treatment of individuals and families impacted by autism spectrum disorders (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, sensory integration challenges, social skill deficits, behavioral difficulties, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma histories including but not limited to neglect, sexual, and physical abuse, adjustment disorders, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, anger management, and parent-child relational issues.
Ms. Goldberg is a member of the National Association for Social Workers (NASW), Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Workers (GWSCSW), Washington Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (WSPP), International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and Association for Play Therapy (APT). Ms. Goldberg holds a certification in Trauma-Informed Clinical Practice, advanced training in play therapy modalities, and pediatric EMDR (Child Specialist Level 1). Ms. Goldberg believes in lifelong learning and is continuously attending trainings and participating in advanced learning and supervision opportunities.
Ms. Goldberg provides support to local agencies, organizations and schools. She has supervised graduate level interns through Catholic University, School of Social Work at the Homeless Children's Playtime Project in DC and currently provides consultation to the Falls Church - McLean Children's Center (FCMCC).
